Philly Mercedes dealers jazzed about new Mercedes-Benz jingle

There?s nothing we love more than a good jingle. We have our classic favorites, of course. Who, no matter your generation, doesn?t know and love the Oscar Mayer wiener song? And what about more recent hits like the catchy tunes sung by the pseudo-pirate band for Freecreditreport.com?
Okay, I can?t pass up the chance to insert my wife?s least favorite current jingle for Truvia, which she claims doesn?t rhyme because the singer pronounces the name wrong. Add to that the line about ?you?re not sweet, you mad my butt fat? just sticking in your head all day long and I have to agree that it can be a bit maddening. But it?s memorable, so someone did their job.
Enough chasing sweet dreams. We?re here to talk about sweet cars and your South Jersey Mercedes E-Class dealer has a showroom full of them. They, in fact, are about to become the subject of a jingle written by Estelle, rapper David Banner and Daley.
How this came about is a bit of a mystery, but the trio has been contracted by the style magazine BLAG to write the jingle with a 1971 Janis Joplin song as their inspiration. It was released in mid-April on iTunes.
That?s not the only release happening. The BLAG Deluxe App for iPad and the coffee table magazine are also available, and not coincidentally, they feature photos and interviews on how the song and video were made with all three artists.
The debut performance of the song took place on April 19 at the Shanghai Auto Show during a Mercedes-Benz press conference. Though this medium may not resonate with all buyers, Philly Mercedes dealers are pleased to have the brand name out there in more venues and know that some owners will appreciate it.
BLAG owners Sally and Sarah Edwards felt the recognition of the Joplin song with its message of triumph and a tie-in with the 125th Anniversary of Mercedes would be the perfect pairing for the jingle. South Jersey Mercedes E-Class buyers will want to check out this track.
If you aren?t familiar with BLAG, don?t feel too bad. It?s a British fashion film, culture and music magazine that a bit high-end ? hence the Mercedes-Benz jingle idea. The magazine is also an iPad App that is distributed world-wide and was created by the Edwards sisters.
Customers of Philly Mercedes dealers can find the Mercedes-Benz jingle in iTunes and can look for the video on YouTube. The whole concept seems a bit odd until you look at how companies are using social networking and other technology to expand their marketing avenues.
As for the artists Estelle, David Banner and Daley, they will likely get a benefit from singing about the Mercedes-Benz as well. After all, it worked for The Eagles, REO Speedwagon and Sheila E.
