Belfast International Airport Parking Review

Belfast International Airport Parking Review

Article by Rebecca Jackson

There are many different long stay options for Belfast International Airport parking and it is worth considering all your options before booking an operator. The Official airport parking is as you would expect the most convenient but also the most expensive service but if you are looking for cheap airport parking consider an offsite, privately-owned parking service.

The all-round cheapest car parking facility is KARL Airport Parking located in KARL Business Park, 3 miles from Belfast International Airport. The cost for one nights parking comes to £6; seven nights costs £24 and 14 nights costs £42. Transfer to and from the airport is via shuttle which costs an additional £1 per person. However, remember if you do decide to choose a service away from the airport to allow an additional 40 minutes onto your journey time for the administration, vehicle checks and transfer.

For facilities closer to the airport, easi-park offers long stay parking at exactly the same rates as KARL for one and seven nights. However, 14 nights is slightly more expensive at £45.

Finally the third cheapest option but only a stones throw from the terminal building, is McCauslands Airport Car Parking. Their rate for one night is £9, seven nights is £32 and 14 nights is £60. Although the terminal is within walking ditance, McCauslands provide a shuttle service so their customers do not have to navigate the busy airport roads on foot.

All the above prices are calculated in nights to avoid confusion. All Belfast International airport parking long stay car parks calculate their costs in days, therefore, you are not charged per 24 hour period but for each consecutive day. Therefore one nights parking is calculated as the cost of two days; two weeks parking equates to 15 days. All the above prices are based on pre-booked tariffs beginning on 1st May 2011.

Suggestions for Belfast International Airport Parking

Suggestions for Belfast International Airport Parking

I always use airport parking because I live in a remote area outside of Belfast. However, I have always experienced problems when choosing which parking service to opt for. Now, I think I’ve cracked it, so here are a few suggestions if you need Belfast International Airport Parking. There are a number of companies long stay car parking services. However, trawling internet comparison sites to find the best prices might not always deliver the information you require to make the best choice for you.

For proximity to the airport, there is one out and out market leader, the Official airport car parks long stay service. These facilities are located onsite, a few hundred metres from the terminal building. They also use an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system for rapid access. If you are looking for the quickest and most convenient service then choose the airport’s official car park. However, these services do come at a premium.

If you are more inclined towards getting the best value for money, you will have to look for offsite, privately-run, car parking operators. The best for value across the board is KARL Airport Parking, located in the KARL business park, a 10 minute shuttle transfer from the airport. On the downside, it is the longest transfer from the terminal building.
For convenience and budget prices, easi-park Belfast provides an excellent service and is only a mile from the airport, off Crooked Stone Road. Further to the south of the airport, Killead Lodge also have a parking facility at slightly higher rates.

The two companies providing mid-range alternatives, close to the airport buildings are Belfast Cosmo Parking and McCauslands Airport Car Parking. Both are located, opposite the official main stay car park site, on the other side of Airport Road. As far as prices are concerned there is little to separate the two and they both offer a range of additional services. At an added cost, McCauslands can provide repair and valet services whilst Cosmo also offer different valet options.

People concerned about the welfare of their cars will be pleased to know all the above car parks adhere to standard security measures including fencing, cctv, floodlights, 24 hour staff and regular patrols. However, again, the Official airport car parks come out top, having received a Park Mark Award for their active management and preventative measures.

The one thing the Long Stay Belfast International doesn’t offer is covered parking. For those travelling for a long period, exposing their precious car to the blustering Irish weather conditions can create unwanted angst. Luckily, Belfast Cosmo parking, McCauslands and easi-park all have a number of covered spaces available at higher rates.

So there it is in layman’s terms but one word of warning…book in advance! You will get the quality of service you require and the best tariffs. As a last point, If you are travelling from afar and are considering using accommodation near the airport, many of the surrounding hotels offer hotel with parking packages. These prices, which start at around £80 per room based on two sharing, include one nights accommodation, complimentary breakfast, 15 days free parking and a shuttle service to and from the airport. You can definitely save money if you book parking and accomodation together and it is completely stress free.

Finding Airport Parking at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport)

Finding Airport Parking at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport)

Article by Guillermo Bravo

LAX airport parking is known to be not only a stressful hassle, but sometimes a sensitive topic around people who have lived through the experience. The Los Angeles International Airport, or LAX as it is popularly known by frequent travelers is a large and busy airport. Traffic through this airport includes more than fifty million passengers every year and more than two million tons of freight, cargo and goods, all heading towards thousands of different destinations. Of all these people who travel through the airport, a large chunk are looking for convenient parking space which is both close to the airport doors and available at a reasonable price.

The huge number of travelers means that there will be difficulty in getting convenient parking, adding to stress levels of travelers, especially those who are nervous about flying itself. However, don’t lose hope yet – there is a method in this madness for you to find a parking spot that meets your convenience needs and budget. The tips provided here will also let you easily locate your parked car on your way out. Most important is to get yourself well organized and have everything you need for your travel. If you do not already know about current prices on LAX parking, call the airport or your preferred parking lot to find the information you need.

Make sure you keep the parking amount aside before you travel to the airport. Now you are all set for travel. However, LAX has over twenty thousand parking slots and these are classified into outdoor lots, short-term and long-term lots. This number may seem inadequate given the huge number of travelers through LAX every single day. If you intend to use short-term parking, you need to evaluate whether you are better off using a cab and having it wait for you. The cab rate including the waiting charges may prove to be less than what you spend on short term parking, besides saving you all the hassles of finding a suitable parking space and finding it again on your way out. If your needs, however, are for LAX longterm parking, there are options available.

For example, you may want to reserve a parking space in a non-terminal parking lot and pay only a daily rate rather than hourly – these work out to a much more reasonable cost. Online sites like AirportParkingConnection.com allow online browsing and booking of parking spaces in non-terminal parking lots which are within walking distance of a number of major airports including LAX. You can also easily make an online reservation from such websites. These sites include a rating of each lot’s services as also parking rates for each. So, in conclusion, its best to reserve a parking slot beforehand, either online or in person, drive straight to your reserved parking slot and travel with one less thing to worry about.

Visit AirportParkingConnection.com for more tips on how to save both time and money the next time you have to find parking at LAX!

Common International Air Travel Rules

Common International Air Travel Rules

Everyday, in the United States, a large number of individuals, couples, and families travel by way of an airplane. Out of all of those travellers, a decent number of them are travelling overseas or to a foreign country. As international travel continues to increase in popularity, it is likely that the numbers will continue to rise. In fact, there is even a good chance that you may make the decision to travel to another country. If so, it is advised that you formularize yourself with the international air travel rules.

When it comes to international air travel rules, there are many travellers who automatically get confused. This is because not many people know that the rules for international air travel are different than the rules for domestic air travel. In reality, they aren’t exactly the same, but they aren’t that much different either. Despite the similarities, it is still advised that you place a focus on international air travel, especially since you will be travelling internationally.

As previously mentioned, you will find that a number of the air travel rules are similar between domestic and international travel. One of those rules is the airport screening process. In all airports, even if they are not classified as an international airport, passengers will need to pass through the appropriate airport security checkpoints. This screening process includes the close examination of your checked baggage. Unlike in the past, now almost all airlines thoroughly inspect checked baggage looking for explosive, flammable, or illegal items.

Since a large number of international airports not only offer international flights, but domestic flights as well, intentional passengers are not always separated from domestic ones. Essentially, this means that the passenger screening procedures, as well as the screening for all luggages will be the same. All flyers are advised to remove any of their accessories, which may set of the metal detectors, as well as their shoes. Your shoes will be sent through the x-ray machine. This is done to ensure that there are not explosives or other dangerous materials hidden in them.

One of the few differences that you will see, between domestic air travel and international air travel, has to do with the first check-in. When you first arrive at the airport, you will need to approach the airline counter to register yourself. This is also where your checked luggage will be examined and processed for the trip. On domestic flights, passengers only need to supply a picture id. This identification is usually a government issued identification card or a driver’s license. If you are planning on travelling internationally, you will need to supply additional proof of identification.

The proofs of identification that you will need will all depend on the airport in which you are leaving from and the airport that you will be arriving at. If you are required to show more than a picture id, you may need to bring your birth certificate, your passport, your visa, or your certificate of citizenship. Although your first impulse may be to bring them all, just incase, you will want to refrain from doing so. Unless absolutely necessarily, you will want to keep these important personal documents safe at home.

The above mentioned international air travel rules and procedures are just a few of the many that you may be required to follow. If and when you are unsure about a particular rule, it is advised that you seek professional assistance. That assistance should either come directly from an international airport or an international airline.
