Get Information on Business Air Travel

Article by Anirban Bhattacharya

Business air travel broadly refers to charter airlines that operate aircraft on a charter basis. Business air travel is not a part of commercial air travel and is treated as a separate entity by the FRA, which even has a separate part to handle Chartered flights. In essence, chartered flights are outside normal schedules, by a hiring arrangement with a particular customer. Most scheduled airline companies also operate charter flights but are not considered or classified as charter airlines.

In context of Business air travel, charter flights have acquired a more specific role with the sole function being to transport executives, sports teams, and anyone whose schedule does not coincide with the schedule in which commercial aircrafts operate.

Air charter travel started becoming popular in the late 1990s, when chartered aircrafts moved into mainstream corporate aviation for a number of factors:

The popularity of very light jets and executive jets popularized the concept of business air travel. These small jets operate with lower inventory and downtime, which add up to bring down the cost of flight substantially. Cessna, Eclipse, Adam Aircraft, and Embraer are the forerunners in executive jet manufacturing. These jets are small, and are retrofitted to operate like an office.

Communication: The 9/11 incident has forced the FAA to impose a number of restrictions on commercial airline travel. For example, use of laptop computers and telephones are completely banned on commercial aircrafts. However, charter flights are regulated by a different part of the FRA, where rules are not so stringent. This flexibility is an added bonus to the corporate world, who now have got the liberty to stay in constant contact even when on the air.

Flexibility: Most commercial airlines operate of preset routes and revenue earning destinations. Hence anyone who has to reach a destination that is not revenue earning would have a tough time arranging for breaks journey. Air charter aircrafts has solved these problems.

Business air travel is expected to increase ten fold over the next two decades and private charter companies are preparing well for the bang. As more and more companies are entering this arena, rates are becoming more competitive and affordable.

Airport Parking: Useful Information

Airport Parking: Useful Information

Customers who are wanting to leave their cars parked in the designated airport parking for longer periods will need to use the long-term parking facilities. Before dropping off your car, it is advisable to compare the car parking options available at the airport with other off-site lots. You will need to make sure not only that your car is safe, but also that you are not paying over the odds. Reservations are not usually required for stays under a couple of weeks in length, but it is always better to reserve your spot in advance as this will be a lot cheaper. Stays over 2 weeks normally do require reserving a space. You should always advise car park personnel how long you expect to be gone, so that they will not mistakenly assume that your car has been abandoned.

Privately-owned, off-site parking lots provide a cheaper option to airport facilities. These types of airport parking options often offer secure parking, for a cheaper price, in well-lit, secure lots. You will usually have the choice of parking your own car and taking a coach to the airport, or using their valet parking service. Many offer add ons at an extra charge, such as cleaning your car and shampooing its interior. Both long and short-term parking are normally available.

The key to affordable airport parking lies in knowing what your options are. If you take the time to find out what is available before you depart, you can guarantee a happy start to your travels.

But there are various aspects of airport parking. There are a lot of ways of bargaining for the lowest airport parking fees too. How you can possibly get the best deal in airport parking depends on how knowledgeable you are of airport parking options. Here is a few nuggets of information to help you build your knowledge on airport parking.

You can pay the airport parking fee in various ways. First you turn up at the airport and park the car and you are charged a fee on a turn-up rate. however if you pre book the car parking you are charged a lesser fee.

You might have heard of the term, ‘gate price’. What does the term gate price mean? Gate price is connected to the fee that the parking company charges you as you turn up to pay for parking. This is also called the turn-up rate. This price changes day to day. On the other hand, a pre booking will save you money on the gate price.

The next important question is how you can book the parking before you arrive? It is simple to book online. You can google the website of your airport or you can take the help of those web companies who will help you by comparing different prices from different companies on your behalf. After reviewing all the prices you just need to click on the confirm button and you have booked the precious space in your airport. The payments have to be made through credit or debit card.

Another interesting thing that you should bare in mind while researching on airport parking is; for the parking companies as well as the web comparison sites, a week means 8 days and two weeks mean 15 days. Do you want to know why? Airport parking companies usually charge for each full day starting from midnight.
Then it does not matter when you arrive on the airport. The parking company will bill you for the whole day.

Keep the above mentioned basic information in mind while searching for the best deal in airport parking.

A Nation Is Born In Philadelphia – Philadelphia Travel Information

Article by Elyse Morgan

Often referred to as “America’s Birthplace,” Philadelphia has been the center of progressive beliefs and democratic principles since the first settlement of the city was founded by the now famous Quaker, William Penn. Naming the settlement “The City of Brotherly Love,” William Penn hoped to protect individual freedoms and promote religious tolerance in stark contrast with what many colonists had escaped under British rule.

William Penn’s visions were realized when the Declaration of Independence was signed in Independence Hall, and after years of bloody and hostile clashes with the British Army during the American Revolution when the United States Constitution was first drafted in the same hall. Travel through time in Independence National Historic Park (Old City) where the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and Constitution Hall are all concentrated. You can view the Constitution and Declaration of Independence in Constitution Hall and take a walk through the many Revolution-era buildings that have been restored and preserved. Travel to Philadelphia, once the capital of the United States, and see for yourself the remnants of revolutionary battles and the emergence of a new, independent nation.

Hoagies, Movies and Masterpieces

A simple walk through the streets of central Philadelphia will reveal the nation’s largest collection of public art amidst ample park space and well-planned, easily navigated streets. Stroll along West Market Street near City Hall and through LOVE Park, taking in the fantastic murals and sculptures along the way. For a more traditional experience, visit the masterpieces of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the steps of which were made famous by Sylvester Stallone in Rocky. For the most unique museum experience, visit the Mutter Museum, originally open to medical students and featuring a wide array of formaldehyde-filled cadavers and skeletal displays, along with some little known facts about the nation’s medical history.

Philadelphia is also known for its many famous architectural feats and noteworthy buildings. The City Hall, completed in 1900, is the world’s tallest load-bearing masonry structure. Another Historic Landmark, the Philadelphia Savings Fund Society building is considered to be America’s first International Modernist skyscraper and also home of the first ever savings bank in the United States. On a smaller scale, Philadelphia is known for the homes of Benjamin Franklin and Edgar Allen Poe.

Find airfare to Philadelphia around the first Friday of the month to enjoy the galleries and sights in Old City for free until late in the evening. When you have had enough of museums, stop into a pub or restaurant for an original Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and some Italian ice for a true taste of Philadelphia. You will probably even want to order a few extra sandwiches for the flight home!
