JFK Airport Parking – Why Hotel Parking is Your Best Option

JFK Airport Parking – Why Hotel Parking is Your Best Option

Article by Emmanuel Gonot

With over 20,000 JFK airport parking spaces available, it’s inconceivable that many passengers still suffer delays and other inconveniences from being unable to find a good parking spot on time. Such mishaps get played out hundreds of times everyday owing, in part, to the sheer volume of people and vehicles coming to and leaving the airport at any given time. New York’s Kennedy International Airport, after all, is the 12th busiest airport in the world.

However, with a bit of planning and advanced booking, you could easily avoid these stressful situations. There are several JFK airport parking options to choose from when you’re doing your trip planning: central airport parking, off-airport private garages, and hotel parking. In my opinion, the most economical and convenient option is hotel parking – the so-called ‘sleep, park, and fly’ alternative.

Compared to parking at the central JFK airport parking facilities, hotel parking is surprisingly more cost-effective. I’m saying ‘surprisingly’ because most of us associate hotels with high costs and such. If you’re traveling for 10 days, for example, you’ll have to pay approximately 0 for parking at the end of your trip if you’ve used the slightly cheaper long-term airport parking at Lefferts Blvd. If you happened to park at the central color-coded facilities, the cost would be a whopping 29! This last one is hypothetical, of course, no one can be that dense to park long-term at short-term rates.

By contrast, JFK airport parking at any of the nearby hotels costs anywhere from 0 to 0 for a room to sleep in the night before your flight – packaged with 10 days of free parking. The savings you’re getting from the complimentary free parking is practically paying for the room, plus you get to stay in a 3-4 stars hotel with all the conveniences and amenities.

Perhaps, the best reason for you to choose the hotel parking option comes down to one word – convenience. Consider this: if you live 3 hours away from the airport, you’ll have to wake up at 1 am just to be at the airport one hour before a 6am flight, and that’s assuming you’re parking at the expensive color coded parking facilities. By the time you get off the plane, if it’s a short 2-4 hour hop, you’ll be drowsy and cranky for lack of sleep.

With the ‘stay, park, and fly’ option, you can check-in into your hotel at any convenient time the night before your flight, have a restful sleep, wake up at 5am (for the 6am flight), be driven to the airport with full valet service – right to your terminal doorstep with someone else taking care of loading and unloading your luggage for you. The same first-class treatment awaits you at the end of your trip getting from the airport to the hotel to get your car.

Of course, some hotels may offer less services or will charge more than the usual price range. But. here’s the thing: competition in this industry is quite fierce and most hotels run heavily-discounted first-class offers just to get your business. It’s up to you to take advantage of this and book the best JFK airport parking bargain available online. Have a safe trip!

Louisville KY Hotels: Stay For An Active Get-away

April 2nd, 2011 No comments

Louisville has something to offer every visitor. Come for business or pleasure, but Louisville KY Hotels will put you up in style and comfort regardless of purpose or party. Be sure to check the Fairfield Inn web site for information about events in the area which could influence room availability and require guests to book well in advance of their trip. In fact, such planning is also useful if you are flexible and want to avoid the crowds.

Churchill Downs Race Track is probably one of the biggest draws in Louisville. Anyone who enjoys a good horse race will know this is home to the Kentucky Derby. This is your chance to join the well-dressed and cheer on a horse, perhaps with a betting slip in hand. Should your horse win, invite some lucky lady (your wife perhaps) out for a fancy dinner at one of the on-site restaurants.

One big arena here is Kentucky Fair Expo Center. Hundreds of acres play host to the state fair. Commercial exhibits are also held here owing to the size of this facility. Try KFC Yum! Center for music, family-oriented shows and Cardinals basketball. Both male and female university players call this home court.

Lots of sport is happening in Louisville. Take in a game of soccer. Root for a football or baseball team. Then there are the zoo acrobatics which are a must for animal lovers.

Louisville has its own Bourbon Trail. Take a visit to Jim Beam and learn more about the gold drink. If wine is more your speed, wineries also dot the landscape so take a tour and a taste.

For your holiday location choose Fairfield Inn. You will be close enough to drive or walk to all your vacation amenities and attractions. This is a pet-friendly hotel so bring Fido too, unless your purpose is business. In this case you might not have time. Local businesses of note include Ford Motor Company, Fort Knox while universities and medical centers also attract corporate guests.

This hotel offers sixty-four non-smoking rooms. Each provides high-speed wireless internet, great for keeping-up with family back home or continuing work projects at all hours. Professional visitors appreciate printing, copying and fax services as well as being able to deal with overnight delivery or parcel pick-up. For some people, work never sleeps. A microwave and mini-refrigerator are set-up so you can keep the books open at your work desk and feed yourself at unsociable hours, or feed young kids who fail to sleep thanks to excitement or jet lag.
