Gay Tours to Bhutan

October 10th, 2009 No comments
by Howie Holben

Tucked between Tibet and India in a remote region of the Himalayan Mountains, lies a tiny Buddhist kingdom called Bhutan. Visitors to this spiritually and culturally-rich country will find a simpler way of life that is largely unaltered by Western culture and modern attitudes. Every aspect of life in Bhutanese villages and towns is steeped in the age-old traditions, beliefs, customs and practices of Buddhism, which is the basis of this countrys conservative, traditional way of life.

To this end, the number of tour groups and tourists allowed to visit Bhutan each year is limited. While Bhutanese culture is very conservative and traditional, the warm, friendly Bhutanese people welcome gay travel tours, just as they would any other guest to their country. Due to the limited tourism allowed, anyone who has the opportunity to travel to this mystical mountain kingdom should take full advantage of experiencing all that the country of Bhutan has to offer.

There is not any scene to speak of in Bhutan, which means that a gay vacation planned to this majestic mountainous region would certainly not be for the purpose of seeking out and experiencing LGBT life in a different culture. This is not to say that there is not same-gender intimacy in Bhutan; in fact, it is a common and accepted occurrence. However, there are no words for gay, lesbian or bisexual in the languages of this region and ones identity is not influenced by sexual behavior.

There is a noted level of bisexual behavior among men, most of who are either married to women or monastic monks, and this is not considered taboo. There is technically a very old law on the books in Bhutan that states that homosexual activity is punishable by imprisonment with the possibility of a life sentence; however, most residents are not even aware of this law and there are no records of it ever being enforced.

Gay travel to Bhutan allows an opportunity to experience a culture that is largely untouched by the outside world and is the ideal setting for a spiritual awakening or renewal. From hiking to visiting monasteries and exploring ancient villages, Bhutan gay vacations are unlike anything you will experience anywhere else in the world.

To truly experience Bhutan, visit this majestic land as part of organized gay travel tours, which will ensure that you have the opportunity to fully discover this beautiful, spiritual country, while respecting the local culture and traditions.

Gay Travel Guide, How to Choose Between Puerto Vallarta, Cancun or Acapulco

September 19th, 2009 No comments

So enough of the congratulations because, with the spring season on the rise and the summer sun just around the corner, I know you are dying to know where you will be going for your next vacation.

One gay travel destination that is quickly gaining in popularity and will have you excited to explore for yourself is Puerto Vallarta. What makes Puerto Vallarta so special? To begin with, the place is incredible. Because of a perfect climate, a tropical jungle, a stunning ocean bay, beautiful beaches and mountains, Puerto Vallarta is the perfect place for weekend getaway.

Puerto Vallarta itself is not large, but be careful not to judge it on its size alone. Even though the city is small, it is a delightful city that is devoted to serving its visitors. This little city is somehow able to retain the old school Mexican charm that it is famous for in the midst of a modern resort infrastructure.

The city also is home to charming restaurants, excellent airports, up-to-date medical services, reliable drinking water supply, and of course, a safe environment to make the place perfect to be a paradise. So if you are the type who are looking for quaintness without sacrificing modern conveniences, then this is your place.

If those few things about Puerto Vallarta did not quite get your attention, then may be Acapulco is the one for you. Acapulco is all about sunny Pacific beaches, clean waters, and rugged mountains. It is also about cruise ships, an up-and-coming spring break destination and an ideal hot spot for both gay singles and couples.

Acapulco is the opposite of Puerto Vallarta since it is famous for its very flamboyant gay clubs and bars. The gay bars in Acapulco might not be as upscale or refined as some of the clubs in big cities, but this is part of what makes Acapulco so unique.

The last, but definitely not least, gay destination that you should consider is Cancun. Many travelers agree that nothing compares to Cancun in regards to being one of the best gay travel destinations ever. Cancun is known as a haven for tourists, especially gay tourists.

The main attraction of this island paradise is the fun nightlife. Visiting the funky and upbeat clubs such as the Picante bar and the Karamba will surely light up the nights you spend in Cancun.

The well known Karamba club is Cancuns largest gay disco while the Picante is the oldest gay bar. You will love to party to the tunes of local and international DJ under the stars in the open air disco. The Karamba has nightly performances featuring impersonators that dance to the latest tunes and drag queens that lip synch Broadways tunes. The party gets going nightly at 10:30 and will likely drag on to the wee hours of the morning.

The Picante bar is still going strong after fourteen years in business. You may get lucky and be in Cancun to witness the annual beauty contest that is held during Carnival and can witness the crowning of The Queen. You will be able to see the owner of the bar and emcee, Mother Picante, introduce the line up of Vegas style strippers, dancers and showgirls.

You will never go hungry while visiting Cancun. This hot spot is teeming with fine restaurants that serve both local and international cuisine.

If this isnt enough to convince you that your gay vacation will be unforgettable, you will love the gay friendly resorts. One of the best places to stay is the lavish Hyatt Cancun Caribe. Other top hotels include the Presidente Intercontinental, the Melia Cancun or the Villas Boutique Hotel. Whatever you are looking for you will find that these resorts are perfect.

Start packing your bags and buy yourself a ticket to a tropical paradise. Whether you choose to travel to Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta or Cancun you will definitely have a perfectly gay time.

The greatest sandy, sunny beaches…and thousands of gay people just for you. What else you can ask? Latin Hot Party is the very first great lesbian event in Cancun dedicated to all GLBT in the world, it is framed by one of the most beautiful beaches and embellished with the authentic Latin flavor.

Gay Travel Guide Recommends Cancun, Playa Delfines

April 22nd, 2009 No comments

Mexico is quickly becoming known as one of the best destinations for adventurous gay travelers. One of the biggest reasons that Mexico is among the best destinations for gay travelers is one specific location. Cancun is the city that draws vacationers and the reason that people flock there is the beaches. Why the beaches? Two simple words: Playa Delfines. Why Playa Delfines? This short and concise gay travel guide will explain the exact reason.

Cancun is known for warmly welcoming the gay and lesbian crowd. Cancun has a liberal and friendly populace that exudes a wonderful atmosphere. Combine friendly residents with a superb public transportation and opulent all-inclusive resorts and you have a recipe for a perfect vacation.

Cancun is also known for the fabulous nightlife and the gay bars, Karamba and Picante prove this. The Karamba is the largest gay disco while the Picante is the oldest.

Cancun also has great restaurants. Let me recommend to you Perico, Labna, La Pasteleteria-Creperia and La Parilla. In Perico, it is always a party night there. While in Labna, you will get a taste of the traditional gourmet cuisine and La Pasteleteria-Creperia is a small and intimate downtown cafe whose creamy and tasty crepes will make your mouth water.

Then, of course, there’s La parilla where, you enter a non-believer in Cancun food and will leave a fervent devotee to it. I kid you not, you will get hooked to its delectable Cancun food and to its pleasant and earthy ambiance.

Cancun has the best of accommodations too. It is a city with lavish and beauteous hotels springing up like mushrooms. They have the Ritz-Carlton, the Villas Tacul Boutique Hotel, Melia Cancun and Hyatt Cancun Caribe ready to become your temporary heavenly abode. By the way, if you are having a hard time with these names, don’t worry. You will be taken cared of here.

The taxi drivers know most places by name and have a wealth of knowledge about the ins and outs of Cancun. You will have no worries about reaching your hotel safely, thanks to the friendly people of Cancun.

History abounds in Cancun. While visiting Cancun you really should take the time to explore the Mayan ruins of Yamil Lu’um and Ruinas del Ray which are located in the Zone Hotelera. After exploring the historic Mayan ruins you will be ready to relax on the beautiful white sand beaches along the Yucatan coast. These beaches are unbeatable and must be seen to be believed.

One of the favorites swimming beaches is Playa Chac Mool. It is an ideal spot for families by day, but once the sun goes down the rocky areas can become a little wild. If you are looking for a beach with calm waves and gentle waters, you will enjoy Playa Langosta. This beach is perfect for swimming and tanning and is enjoyed by families as well as partiers. While these beaches are wonderful, nothing compares with Playa Delfines.

Play Delfines is enjoyed by gay couples and singles and has become known unofficially as the gay beach in Cancun. When you look at the grassy slope that leads to the beach you will clearly see what I mean. This is a perfect spot for surfing, sunning and everything in between, but the sun is not the only thing that is hot.

You will undoubtedly be able to locate some hotties that will preoccupy you during you stay. If you are interested in visiting Play Delfines, you should know where its located. It is located south of the Hilton at the southern end of the Hotel Zone. Its very easy to find.

Hopefully this article became a gay travel guide that you found helpful. Visit Playa Delfines to catch some fun, sun, sand and plenty of sultry hotties while visiting Cancun.
