The city of Atlanta has become one of the favored destination spots in the United States. The city was host to the 1996 Summer Olympics, and it is home to some of America’s most important companies such as CNN, Delta, Coca-Cola, and others. For those of you who have not considered visiting all these Atlanta attractions on vacation, it is time to rethink and pay Atlanta a visit.
Atlanta is not simply known for the many things that it offers the vacationer. Its proximity to states like Tennessee, North and South Carolina, and also the famed Smokey Mountains make it a portal city also. I would now like to outline some of the ideal Atlanta attractions for your enjoyment.
One of the best places to visit hands down is the Georgia Aquarium, generally considered the biggest in the world of its kind. For example, inside the Coca-Cola headquarters, they offer tours about the humble beginnings of the company and how it has grown to be such a dominating force in the soda industry. Kids and adults will really enjoy that one. You could also tour the CNN live studio to get a taste of what is feels like to be a CNN anchor. They even have a little area where you can sit at a desk and imagine that you are a big time news anchor.
If you are in for some history traveling, then go and visit the Martin Luther King National Historic Site which serves as the home of the famous leader of Civil Rights in America, where he also preached the good news and where he was buried as well when he passed away.
If you want very good shopping, dining or nightlife, be sure to visit the Buckhead area. Or if you would rather do something a little more relaxed, and then check out the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. There you will find festivals, concerts, and other fun outdoor functions.
